The Motivationz dream is to help children understand that they have the enormous ability to become what they dream.
"Helping shape our youth pathways will have promising and productive effects on our communities; which means a brighter future in employment, sports and life opportunities"
The Objectives of Youth Service (NEET) are to support young people to:
- Actively engage in education, training or work-based training in order to achieve an NCEA Level 2 (or equivalent) qualification.
- Not be in receipt of a benefit three months after they turn 18.
Youth service (NEET) is funded by the Ministry of Social Development with the ultimate aim of reducing benefit dependency among young people. The initiative is part of phase one of the welfare reforms.
Motivationz will deliver this service to work with 16 and 17 year olds who are still attending school but are at risk of becoming NEET and are not achieving their NCEA Level 2. In these instances we will be working closely with the school to either help the young person stay positively engaged with their learning, or find alternatives which best suit the school.
Motivationz is contracted to deliver in the Christchurch region only. Our aim is to use a holistic approach to work with the students, and be able to ignite some passion and motivation within.

MOTIVATIONZ MAORI & PASIFIKA YOUTH DEVELOPMENT MENTORING PROGRAMME
“Hapaitia te ara tika pumau ai te rangatiratanga mo nga uri whakatipu”
The Motivationz Maori & Pasifika Youth Development Mentoring Programme encompasses the six principles of the Youth Development Strategy Aotearoa, through the recognition and implementation of two recognised and holistic indigenous health models: Te Whare Tapa Wha and The Circle of Courage.
Motivationz uses a strengths-based approach to youth development, with mentors building supportive and positive relationships with rangatahi to create Individualised Action Plans in order to achieve their goals. Our vision at Motivationz is to “enhance lives through building confidence and self-belief. Motivationz recognises the paramount importance of acknowledging cultural identity and values when working with Maori and Pasifika rangatahi and their whanau/ aiga. We use a holistic approach through the use of the Te Whare Tapa Wha Maori health model which identifies four elements of health imperative for overall healthy development of the young person. These are: Taha Tinana—Physical health; Taha Wairua—Spiritual Health; Taha Whanau—Family Health; and Taha Hinengaro—Emotional Health
Through the development and implementation of an Individualised Action Plan, the mentor will endeavour to support and motivate the young person to: improve their overall wellbeing; increase their attendance and engagement within their learning environment; and achieve credits towards completing NCEA Level 2.
